Cell Phone Issues

by Jose

“Cell phones are being used so much that some research says that people are forgetting how to talk face to face”. This is a statement that I do not agree with.
I admit that people do indeed use cell phones a lot. But they are not forgetting how to speak in person kids and adults still are talking to people in person. A cell phone is mainly used to talk to people who are far away. When people are in the same room they do talk face to face a lot to.
Kids aren’t forgetting how to speak in person. The bad thing is that they’re costing their parents lots of money due to all the talking on the phone. But to cell phone companies this is good news.
Talking isn’t the only bad thing when it comes to cell phones another bad thing is kids are texting a lot. And just like talking it’s used a lot. Meaning loss of money on that as well. Because kids use it a lot they end up going over their limit costing more money.
My point is that the bad thing isn’t that kids are forgetting how to talk in person due to cell phones. The bad thing is that it’s costing a lot of money for parents.

Cell Phone Disagreement

by Brian

Cell phones are being used so much that researchers say that people are forgetting to talk face to face. I think it is not true because some of the ordinary cell phone users don’t use them the whole 24 hours of the day. Second reason is because people with cell phones usually will talk to at least 5 people or more throughout the day. Teens with cell phones have school so they won’t be using their devices in the middle of the day.
In the beginning of the day when a cell phone user wakes up they will often check their phone for any messages or calls. Then they get up and get ready for school. If their riding the bus and their friend(s) don’t show up the user will end up using their phone the whole ride. If their friend(s) do show up the user will end up talking to them the whole ride to school. So in this case the cell phone user is talking face to face with the friend. At school he/she can’t use the device unless given permission by a staff member at the school. The user has no choice of communicating face to face. School is only about 6-7 hours of the 24 hours of the day. At the end of school the user takes the bus home and will likely use the device the whole trip that is only half hour. When he/she gets home they would have dinner and then homework. Afterwards the cell phone user has to get ready for bed. The average bedtime for a cell phone user is 9:30. So this will leave them 3 ½ hours to use the device in one whole day.
An average user will communicate with 5 or more people using face to face contact during the day. In the morning the user will always make contact with one family member or more. If the cell phone user goes to school on a bus and has friends on the bus ride to, it is likely that that he/she will rather talk to friends then use the device. At school the cell phone user will talk to more friends and at least two teachers. The bus ride home will be more time to talk to friends. At home the user ends up talking to mom or anybody else at home. Dinner time the family could have a conversation. Bed time the day is complete and there is no communicating in the night.
At school some days the teachers will let you use the device you have for some amount of time. But most of the time you are never allowed to use your cell phones at any time of school hours.
This is why I don’t agree with the agreement of people forgetting to talk face to face.

Phones Changed Our Life

by Stephanie

Cell phone has changed this generation.  I think it’s more comfortable talk through the phone and text. Because when you text a person they take some time and that time they take; you can think what you are going text back to them. People are starting to forget how to talk face to face.
I say people are not comfortable talking face to face ever since technology has improved. The cell phone has changed us all. If it wasn’t for cell phone or phone we could take to our relatives or friends etc.  But sell phones has made us forget how to talk face to face.
If all of the people on Earth would have put there phone away and locked it. Some of the people wouldn’t last an hour. That how much cell phone has changed us; we get too attached to our phones. If we can’t use our phone for one month we would have more exercise and we would learn how to talk face to face again.  Some people well get use to not have a phone always by there side.
But also sell phone are used for emergency. So we could have a phone only for emergency. We not having phones would change our life. Because we would relay on them. For example if we get stuck on a math problem we could use the calculator. Or if you have a question you can go to the internet or text a friend.
I would relay on my phone a lot. But I also don’t like talking face to face. I think its awkward when you don’t have nothing to talk about. And when your texting you can take sometime to text back so you can come up with something to say. We should all take some time and forget about our phones. And see how life is with out them.

Cell phone

by Odalys

Cell phones as been using too much and people are forgetting to talk face to face.
Do I agree with the statement yes and no?
The reason I said yes because parents and teens have been texting and calling. Teen’s text more than calling but the reason why when kids get in trouble the way not to get hit so they wouldn’t tell them face to face.
The another reason is that some parents give phones to there kids just to call in case of a emergency but some just use it for texting their friends.
I think people that should stop using their phones because you get to close to your phone and your fingers start to hurts. Sometimes your eyes hurt because you keep using it a lot. People just have a phone for hearing music of watching videos but people should use their phones for a little bit.
Some people say that phones have change you’re life because the only thing that kids like to use is phones and people are driving there shouldn’t be texting. Also when people are walking I see people texting they can get hit my a car. So I think to some people it does take over you’re life but to me it does.

Cell Phones

Cell phones have changed the way we communicate today. People today are using their cell phones that most people forget to talk to each other face to face. I do agree that cell phones are being used more today than people even seeing each other face to face.
Some good things about cell phones are that it’s an easier way of communicating. I think that cell phones are being used more often today because they are a great way to communicate with people that live far away from here. It’s a great way to communicate with families that live in different places. Also, now many people don’t have time to visit their friends that they text more often.
But, I think that there are some bad reasons that cell phones are being used today. Now since cell phones are used often people get addicted to using them. Also now small kids have phones and they use them a lot that they don’t go outside as often as they used to.
Also, cell phones are great because they are useful when there is an emergency. But, most people don’t use them for emergencies they use them just to text, call, or use the internet. Most teenagers now use their cell phones a lot and get attached to them. I know that because I get attached to my phone a lot and use it a lot that I don’t talk to a lot of my friends face to face like I used to.
My answer is yes, I do agree that cell phones are being used more often but, there are a great to communicate. But, people shouldn’t be using them a lot that they don’t talk to each other face to face.

Cell Phones

This is a great point but cell phones have changed our generation for other reasons not so that people “forget how to talk face to face”. But I don’t agree with this statement.
Cell phones became invented for the better use of technology, communication and other great reasons. For example I use my phone for texting, talking and the internet. But I do not forget how to talk face to face, if anything I prefer talking to someone face to face. Again like I said before cell phones came to us because of a different change that’s why texting and calling were on them so that you would, for a change, could use them.
Right now the real question is, if cell phones are making people forget how to talk face to face? According to their research they have just made a statement not answered that question. I’m not saying their research is wrong just that according to personal opinion I don’t agree with that. I believe that I don’t agree with this because I haven’t changed just because of this new technology.
Research has led us to thinking that people are forgetting how to talk face to face but again that’s just their research I, any possibly many others, believe that it’s a If question not Is. Again though cell phones are not getting us addicted, I believe that we can make the choice of whether the phones should get us addicted or not.
So, this was a great point so that people can understand but I do not agree. Now this is your choice to either agree or not.

Cell Phones

I disagree I think that even if people use phones a lot, they still know how to talk face to face. Talking face to face has been how to communicate with other people for thousands of years.

Cave people were the first Humans to communicate because they were the first Humans on the Earth in the first place. All it was at first was grunt noises and hand gestures. Now it has adapted and now we communicate in many different languages.

Most of the population on Earth knows the “Universal Language” English. People say that because the USA is very popular and very powerful. Brittan speaks English too but with an accent.

Many of the American movies made have to be translated into other languages. But in some cases, like “The Grudge” that was a Japanese movie to start with. Its was remade for Americans.

See we Humans can talk and communicate without phones.

Why Cell phones Don’t Interfere with Face-to-Face Conversations

by Owen

I think cell phones are not doing anything with face to face talking. They are actually better to practice with in the first place.
Cell phones now days are so high tech that there is face time and omegle and many others.  Unless you are a retard they should not affect your face to face talking. I use my phone a lot and I never had a problem with talking face to face. The only issue I can think of is people who are fakers and meet someone they don’t expect to because they lied about them selves.
Another reason is Facebook, people talk to other people on there all day everyday and the thing is sometimes they don’t know that person so they have to think up and type up words to say. Something’s you wouldn’t say in person but that’s no different than in person so that’s another thing. Talking is a skill and you need to have that to be a common person, cell phones take no part in that.
It also helps with stranger danger and all of that jazz.  People on all those apps and websites should know there are people out there who will try to fake you out like football and find you and kill you.  I know stranger danger there was a group of Chinese people who chased me in a gold van. I will never fall for that unless they claim to be sexy girls. Then I might be in danger. You should still be very careful though.
Once again cell phones have no part in your face to face issues. It depends on how you are with people and your image. So that concludes this essay.

Talking Face to Face

by Tori

No I do not agree with that statement. And yes I do agree with that statement. I think it is easier to talk to somebody through texting than calling, but I would rather talk face to face then call that person. I think people have more to say face to face and on the phone if you’re calling somebody it is an awkward pause.

Although I do not agree with that statement I do think a lot less bullying would happen if there were no phones. I think that because some people would be too scared to say something to somebody’s face, but if they had a phone they could text them or call them without looking in the persons face which makes it easier to say stuff. Talking on the phone is good though cause if you have a relative that lives far away you can call them.

I know a lot of people who are attached to their phone, I guess it depends on the person you’re talking about. For example when one of my cousins are with me and they are on their phone they don’t pay attention to anything until the phone is put down and she texts while she is talking to a person on the same phone as her but that’s about it. Another one of my cousins is constantly on her phone but still talks and listens.

People are all different so while one person has their eyes glued on their phone and don’t talk to nobody besides on the phone there is other people who use their phone a lot but talks perfectly in front of other people. And some are in the middle like you’re on your phone but when you talk to people you get a bit nervous but then you calm down a bit and you’re okay.

So that is why I do not think people are forgetting to talk face to face because of phones and why I think some people are forgetting how to talk face to face.

I agree with this statement because when I hangout with my friends we’re always texting. Like before we used to do a lot of fun things. Now even relationship break ups and make ups are through text. It’s also good to use cellphones.
Now days almost everybody has cellphones. Even little kids.   I didn’t have a cell phone until I was in like 5th grade. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, even 4th, graders have cell phones. There always texting instead of enjoying life. I think it’s fine if they use there cell phones once in a while but not to much. They should go hangout more. Same goes with any other electronics. Like on iPods how we could text to if we have Wi-Fi.
We should try to go for a walk to the park, go walk around with your friends and get some pizza, or even go to the skate park.  Because, using cell phones or even electronics to much can cause problems with your eyes or even obsessions. . I know I use electronics and my cell phone a lot but I try to go hangout with my friends too.
Now when couples get on arguments they solve it by texting there boyfriend/girlfriend or they just break up. In the old days they used to say cute things to each other face to face now it’s by text.  If a guy likes a girl, there not brave enough to ask them out in person instead they do it by text.
In other words cellphones are not as bad. Like if there is an accident you could call 911. If your parents decide to move you could keep in touch with your friends or you could keep in touch with your family members.
Well these are some things I like about this using cellphones a lot and not being able to talk to people face to face.

Talking Face To Face

by Taylor C.

I think phones are good and bad. There fun to play with and they help you, but they have became to extreme. Phones can help people, but can also danger them.

Phones are bad because they cause radiation coming from the phone and onto your ear which is going into your brain. The radiation can cause problems with your head like shutting the brain down in some parts and causing you to be dumb. It can give you brain cancer, and nobody wants that, but its one out of a million. Also phones are bad because of bulling! But I don’t think that interferes with not knowing how to talk to a person.

I personally think phones help a lot. Like in case of emergencies or to get a hold of someone. There fun to play with and, also the smart phones help you with grammar and typos. But the phones aren’t all about texting. You can Call, Text, Face Time... Etc.

So phones are making you forget how to talk to people. It’s actually helping you! The schools are actually getting iPods, iPads, & iPhones to get teaching games for kids to practice with. So there is only two things I can actually say why phones are bad.

That’s what I think about cell phones not causing people to forget how to talk to people! People are not dumb to forget how to talk. We have been talking ever since we have been alive!

Cell phones

by Adrian

Today I’m going to be talking about cell phones. Is because people are saying that you would not like to talk face to face because of phones I think its false because why would people what to do such a thing like that because I know I wouldn’t its stupid that people think that because like I know it could happen but I don’t think it would because a lot of use kids go out and walk or talk to friends. Well a lot of people are like into there phones but for them to change like that is dumb.

Well cell phones are a good use for a lot of people because if other people like have a problem with there grandma there mom can call her or him. Well for we all know we all like to text when were bored but it’s not that because I have a phone because my mom would call me or it’s because something is going bad.

Why would people be saying that you would what be talking to other people face to face its super stupid because I would never change for a stupid phone its because how would that change anything you would not turn into like how people are talking about I believe but other people get into there phones a lot but that does not change anything.

I think it’s false because people would not just stop talking to people to text them right? because think about it why you start to do that when you can do well the people that are saying stuff about other people about not hanging out with them is cause of that its not cause of that maybe is because they cant or something you know or maybe they just don’t want to.

Well that’s all I got to say about phones because like it’s really stupid for people that don’t like know what there talking about and they still say stuff.

Are Cell phones being used to much?

by Justin

I agree with this statement because when I am watching a movie with my friends they don’t even watch they just text, and when I ask them if they want popcorn they don’t answer I have to ask five or six times.

Now in days everyone is inside on there cell phone, When I was younger there were no cell phones to talk to friends,  you had to walk to there house or walk somewhere to meet them. Even little Four year olds have cell phones! I didn’t get my first cell phone till I was ten. Come on!

I read an article about this and they said the rates with cell phones between the years 2003 and 2012 have been over 1,000,000. That’s a lot I think. In my opinion todays society is going crazy with all of these cell phones!

Also with some other electronics like the iPod If you have Wi-Fi you can also text and call friends off of it I think,  that’s crap.  I get that we could use are cell phones sometimes like for example, Say grandma falls down the stairs and all you have is your cell phone your obviously going to call 911.
This is my little essay on how Cell phones are being used to much. I hope you all whomever reads this understands where I’m coming from.

Cell phone usage

by Ulises

Scientist say that with so much texting and using your phone you forget how to talk face to face. I think it’s false, because its not really common for people to forget to talk face to face. And it would be hard to forget how to speak and another reason why I think its false is because not everyone text’s the same some people text more than others.
It’s not really common for people to forget to talk face to face because in school they do it a lot, so they couldn’t forget how to talk face to face. And they can’t text in school so it wouldn’t really affect there talking. But phones can be useful like in some cases if an emergency happens or something they can call and that won’t affect there talking to people. Like I text and call people and that doesn’t affect my speaking or talking to people.
It would be hard to forget to talk by texting, I don’t think that’s true because we grew up talking and for us to forget how to by texting. I think that wouldn’t happen just by texting cause a lot of people text and call and use there phones. But doesn’t really mean you would forget how to talk. Maybe if all you did was text constantly then maybe you would studder or something if you first talked to someone after a long period of time.
Another reason why I think you wouldn’t forget how to talk face to face is that not everyone text’s the same, some people text differently then others. So if you just used your phone and text you probably wouldn’t loose your talking. Cause its not every day that someone text’s there has to be at least one day they don’t text.
So I think that’s all I have to say for the cell phone usage. And why I think its false.

Hats/Beanies/hoods

    By Chance

The rule that should be changed is no hats/beanies/hoods. All of those things don't effect your academical performance.

The reason that this rule should be lifted is because if its cold that day and they tell you to take the hat off then you would be more concentrated on how cold it is, rather than focusing on their work. So if they concentrate on how cold it is they will fail. If they fail then you will look like a bad teacher. When you look like a bad teacher you will get fired. If your fired you will not have a job.

So if you would like to keep your job you will allow hats/beanies/hoods in classrooms.

The one school rule I would change

By Felicity

I know all schools have rules for a reason. That reason is to protect the children. To me some rules are just pointless.

There are at least two rules I would like to change. The first rule is *no gum aloud in school *. I think at the beginning of the school year students should get a paper saying that he or she will not make a mess or annoy anyone in the class with gum and he or she will sing it and if they do not follow the agreement there privilege will be taken away. The second rule I would change is the *no electronics * rule. I think the students should be able to have ipods,mp3,and C.D. players at reses lunch and in class when the teacher allows them.

These are the two rules I would change. I strongly believe that these rules school change.

No Title Given

Our school has a lot of rules. The rules are straight forward but some are dumb like the hat and hood rule. I think that they should change it for people that have a bad day.

We should be able to wear hats because it is a more of a distraction then not wearing them. And I think that we should bring our electronics to school because we can uses them at recess or when we finish doing our class work and first ask the teacher for permission to use it in class.

And I think we should eat gum in class because we are hungry in the morning. And wear glasses in class too.

School Rules

By Taylor A.

The rule that I would change is the steps that we when get sent to the office. We get on these steps which I think it is stupid like step 4 we have to do service like wipe the desk and clean everything. That's why they have the janitors and we students only go to school is to learn.

Then step 5 we get suspended for the rest of the day. Her are all the steps step 1 is a conversation and parent contact, step 2 is lunch detention and parent contact , step 3 is service and parent contact, step 4 get suspended for the rest of the day, step 5 is get suspended for 1 to 3 days, and finale step 6 expulsion.

I think that is to strict for our little school and you only have 6 steps. If you only get lunch detention and you get moved to the next step. I already on step 3. The last one you get expelled. Which I think is really harsh and we don't have the most silent calm kids. But, that's too much for just us and then some of the stuff is stupid for what we get send up the for. Which if we could change those w should least have like 7 or 8 them. So that's what I think what we should do.

School Rule

By Zucely

We have a lot of school rules in Lo-Inyo school. I would like to two rules. If I cant change those two rules that I would like to then I would try really hard to change only one rule.

The main rule that I would like to change is that iPods, camera, phones, and anything electronic. The rule can be that we can use them in class if the teacher doesn't let us but we could use them at recess. They should change that if they see your iPod, camera, phone, or anything electronic they wont take it away . I think that's stupid.

Another rule I would like to change is that we should be able to eat, chew gum , and have drinks. Until the food gets in the way of working , we don't throw away our gum , or we spill our drinks.

Well that's two of the rules I would like to change .
